                        ANNE MOLYNEUX

When Anne retired from her teaching career in 2007, she took her first quilting class.  She immediately fell in love with the art of quilting! She especially enjoys hand quilting, embroidery, and working with wool.  While in high school, she did a small bit of stitching in her Home Economics classes - sewing mostly doll clothes and aprons- but had never tried quilting at that time.

She tries to sew everyday! She is continually inspired by her quilting friends and by her colleagues at Happiness is . . . Quilting!

Kim is a Southern California gal who moved to Texas 8 years ago. Kim learned to sew in Home Ec class in Junior High. She loved to sew and excelled in the class. She went on to earn the Home Economics Student of the Year award in eighth grade. Kim started quilting with a group of ladies from her church while pregnant with her first child and she hasn't looked back.  She's been quilting for about 30 years. She loves scrappy quilts and has a very organized stash and sewing room. She started working at HIQ in the summer of 2017. Kim works in the back ordering and receiving merchandise for the shop and prepares the Happygram each week. She is also the teacher of our Beginning Piecing class.

Sewing machines and the projects they can make have been a part of her life since grade school.  Her mother was a seamstress and tailored men’s clothing.  She taught her about fabric, how to choose the right fabric for a pattern and how to read and adjust patterns. She was also an expert hand sewer and they spent memorable time on hand-embroidery projects.  While her adult life was spent in the technical corporate world, her creative side always enjoyed time creating sewing projects, paper crafting and gardening.  In 2013, she discovered the world of machine embroidery and a new passion was born.  She now owns two embroidery machines in addition to her regular machine and a serger.  Her happiness is spending time in the sewing room surrounded by color and that next project.

Sewing has been a part of her life since making garments for herself and her sister when they were children.  Their mother sat her at the sewing machine and she has been there ever since.  She started quilting when she wanted a quilt for her son’s “big bed, and have been consumed with quilting ever since.  She especially enjoys branching out into new kinds of projects when making shop samples.

Penny has worked at our shop for almost 7 years.  She is a very talented teacher and offers classes on Beginning and Advanced Machine Quilting as well as Machine Applique.  She also organizes several, very popular clubs and classes at the shop.

Penny is a voracious quilter and completes more projects than anyone around.  Her work is impeccable and lovely.

Sadie is a miniature Australian Shepherd that came to live with us in McKinney in December, 2017.  She was born on October 20, 2017.  She hopes everyone will say hello and let her give them kisses when they are in to shop.
