Downton Abbey Mystery Quilt Along

LoveBug Studios is doing it again! Join in the worldwide mystery quilt along as we all tune into our local PBS stations on Sunday nights beginning in January. Happiness Is ... Quilting! will be offering a limited number of quilt kits for this fun Downton Abbey Mystery Quilt Along. All you need to do is sign up for the quilt along and choose your "team" - Team Carson, Team Cora, or Team Rose! And, HIQ! will be including a Downton Abbey tote bag with each kit purchase! The quilt is all patchwork using common quilting shapes, easy enough for confident beginners. The quilt finishes 72''x92.'' Last year's quilt along attracted almost 3,300 participants from all US states, 9 Canadian provinces, and 24 additional countries. Order your kit before the end of the month so you don't miss out!

New Year, New Classes
With only 14 days left in 2014, it's time to start looking at the new opportunities to discover new techniques and master acquired techniques. The amazing staff teachers at HIQ! have developed new classes, workshops and clubs that will begin in January and February. Here is just a quick overview of what is being offered in 2015.
  • Creative Stitching and Texturing Workshop - Jill Green - Four sessions beginning Saturday, Jan. 24. Get your creative juices flowing! In this four part class, we will learn many embroidery stitches as well as techniques for texturing.
  • Stitch This - Janet Lindsey - A quarterly stitch group for all Stitching Society members.
  • Civil War Legacy - Timi Ann Welch - A quarterly club beginning Friday, Feb. 13, or Saturday, Feb. 14. Join Timi Ann once a month for a little Civil War history and instruction on mini quilts from Carol Ann Hopkin's Civil War Legacies II. No sewing machines necessary.
  • Women Of The Prairie - Penny Treaster - Six month club beginning Saturday, Feb. 21. Follow the trials and tribulations of women living on the prairie in sod houses. Class will consist of historical lecture and block construction of various quilts.
