Sloan and Hargrave Return This Summer
We enjoyed having Pat Sloan at the shop last year so much, that we invited her back. And of course, we had to have Harriet Hargrave back at the shop. Pat will be teaching three one-day workshops in July covering hand and machine applique, and medallions. Harriet will be teaching her Quilter's Academy, invisible machine applique and free motion quilting. Individual class details listed below.

- Tidbits of Handwork: A Sampler of Easy, Take-Along Applique Techniques - Wednesday, July 16,

This handwork class will show you how to use the running stitch as an applique method, and how 'thread matters' when doing this kind of applique. Cost: $75
- The Magic of EASY Machine Applique - Friday, July 18,

Draw, cut, machine stitch ... It's so easy anyone can do it! Fast, fun and you learn ALL of Pat's machine applique tips! Cost: $75
- Medallion Magic: Antique Mist - Saturday, July 19,
10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Pat's piecing and color workshop is all about the fabric you select to make this stunning Medallion quilt called "Antique Mist". Using two main colors, create this scrappy quilt from Pat's book "Focus on the Center". Cost: $75
- Achieving Quality Workmanship the Quilter's Academy Way - Tuesday, August 26, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
This class will focus on how to achieve quality workmanship and precision sewing based on the principles of Quilter's Academy Volume 1. Harriet will illustrate, explain and/or demonstrate her approach to a variety of techniques including how to accurately rotary cut, create seam allowances, measure and monitor your own work and more. Cost: $80
- Quilter's Academy II and III - Wednesday, August 27, and Thursday, August. 28, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
This two-day workshop combines techniques found in Quilter's Academy Volumes 2 and 3. Many skills will be covered in the construction of the small quilt top. Cost: $150
- Invisible Machine Applique - Friday, August 29,
10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Enjoy learning professional techniques for beautiful machine applique. Invisible machine applique techniques will give a hand applique appearance and is Harriet's instant gratification technique. Cost: $80
- Free Motion Quilting - Saturday, August 30,
10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Master the art of Free Motion Quilting with Harriet. Harriet is considered the expert in Heirloom Quilting on your home machine. Cost: $80
Intro to Utility Quilting
Do you love the simple and practical stitches of utility quilting? Join Jill Friday, June 13, from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. to learn the basics of utility quilting. She will also share with you information about the variety of threads that can be used. This is a versatile style of quilting that can be used on traditional reproduction quilt projects as well as modern quilt projects. Enroll today.
Blooming Nine Patch Class
Janet will have you stitching your nine patches and helping you layout your blocks for your Blooming Nine Patch before you can say, "Blooming Nine Patch."
