Customer Appreciation Luncheon
We are so thankful to have amazing customers who support our shop! We would like to invite all our fabulous customers to the Customer Appreciation Luncheon. The Friday following Christmas, Dec. 27, from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. the HIQ staff will have lunch and dessert prepared. Please call the shop or email us at so we can prepare enough meals.
Early sign up ensures the class will have enough students for the class to make.

Quilts, Quilts, Quilts: Beginning Patchwork

Thursday evenings Jan. 16, 23, 30 and Feb. 20 from 6-9 p.m. or Monday afternoons Jan. 27, Feb. 3, 10, and 17 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Join M.J. for this comprehensive look at beginning quilting from the ground up. M.J. has 50 years of quilting experience and is a master quilter. She will teach you how to make a quilt you will be proud to show off.

No quilting experience necessary. You will spend part of the first class reviewing your machine and getting it set up. After you complete this class you will have mastered the following
  • basic terminology (used in patterns)
  • selecting fabric
  • choosing the right tools
  • use of a rotary cutter for precision cutting
  • techniques for machine piecing
  • how to finish your quilt

Buggy Barn Basics

Learn how to Make the amazing Lady Liberty quilt from "Crazy or Not". In this class we will discuss how to stack the fabric, how to make the template, cut out the block and then sew it back together. We will discuss different settings to use this block to make a quilt.

Gingerbread Square: A Crabapple Hill Coloring Technique Class

Let's Make A Diehl: A Monthly Kim Diehl Project Club

Betsy inspired us to start our own exchange group, "H.I.Q. Divas,"
with her beautiful exchange blocks in History Repeated. Now, she and Carol are bringing their original quilts to inspire us again! She is bringing the whole kit and caboodle to show and talk about. Not only that, but she is also bringing additional exchange quilts that were not in the book!

Applique with the Quilted Crow Girls

Chirp - Applique with Attitude

Learn to applique with attitude the Piece O' Cake way! Your stitches not only hold the applique in place, but they also embellish as well! The edge of the applique is needleturned and sewn with perle cotton. This applique method is fast and fun and very cute!

You will cover three different stitches in this 1-day class suitable for all skill levels. The pattern for the 10"x10" mini quilt is included.

Blowin' In The Wind

Learn the hand applique techniques that will help you sew better and happier. In addidtion to easy template making and how to make and use applique placement guides, you will perfect your invisible applique stitch as you work on your block in class. Stitching techniques include 2-point leaves, cutaway applique, outer points and the invisible stitch. This class focuses on applique techniques.

You will work on one 14"x14" block. The pattern for this quilt is included. This 1-day class is suitable for all skill levels.
